Every person has the right to register, and registration is a requirement for eligibility to vote. Registration is available exclusively at the Constituency Office and is ongoing, except when the Governor General issues a Writ for General Elections, at which point registration ceases. Following registration, voters can expect to receive their Voter’s Identification Card within approximately two weeks. The initial application is free, while replacement cards cost EC$20.00. Voter’s ID cards must be collected personally by the applicant, who must present the receipt issued at the time of registration.
What do I need?
- Official Birth Certificate or valid Passport.
- Marriage certificate where applicable
- Citizenship document
- Proof of stay in country (for Commonwealth Citizens)
- Grenadian parents Birth Certificate for Naturalized Grenadians
The registration process
- Visit the Constituency Office and present your required documents to the Assistant Registration Officer.
- Answer the relevant questions during the registration process.
- Your photograph, fingerprints, and signature will be taken at the office.
- The documents will be scanned and entered into the system, then returned to you.
- A receipt will be printed and given to you. Keep this receipt, as you will need it when returning to collect your card.
- Return to the Constituency Office two weeks later to collect your card.
